Long-Term Care
The Jewish Home has more than 420 long-term care residents. There are
ten distinct living areas, including a secured environment for residents
with Alzheimer’s disease and related illnesses.
Persons interested in long-term care must complete
an Application for Admission. This, along with current medical records
and interviews with the intake social worker and licensed nurse, provide
the psychosocial, medical, financial, and legal information that comprise
the admission’s
assessment.
Long-term care is paid for either privately or under Medi-Cal’s
long-term care benefit. Medicare may also offer limited coverage. The
director of Admissions approves applicants
for admission. Once an application is approved, there is a waiting period
for admission, ranging from three to eighteen months.
