GENERATIONS is a group that has been formed to enable younger generations to interact with and learn from the residents of the San Francisco Jewish Home. We organize a variety of intergenerational events and activities designed to appeal to both singles and couples from 25-45 years of age. Whether you decide to make it a few visits a year or a few visits a month, the opportunities for involvement are wide-ranging and flexible.

With today’s demanding lifestyles, it’s sometimes hard to carve out time for new experiences, for making new friends, for being a volunteer. Participating in Generations' events is an easy and rewarding way to get – and stay – involved, even if you are not able to make the on-going commitment to volunteer. Generations makes volunteering simple by organizing several group activities throughout the year when young adults and elders can have fun together and enrich one another’s lives. By volunteering at and attending Generations’ sponsored events and activities, participants have the opportunity to meet new people – both the young and the young-at-heart – and to gain the feeling of satisfaction that comes from giving back to one’s community.

Generations’ activities attract participants who are new to the Home, as well as current volunteers of the Home, and provide opportunities for them to volunteer while socializing with contemporaries.
